The word 'chattel' is related to the word 'cattle' and both words share their origins in Medieval Latin and Old French.
A chattel slave is 'property' rather than a person, and this dehumanises the slave.
When a human is deemed a 'person' by law, they are given all the rights afforded a human; they are safe under the umbrella of human rights law.
Human rights are one's basic rights and freedoms as a person that every person (aside from chattel slaves) is given. Chattel slaves do not have rights or freedoms, because they are property rather than person.
Examples of human rights are the following;
The right to freedom from torture and inhumane treatment.
The right to privacy.
The right to marry and have family.
The right to freedom of thought, religion, opinion, and expression.
A chattel slave has no such guarantee of these human conditions, and instead is at the mercy of his Mistress, who will decide what he will or will not receive in life.
Earning Rights
A chattel slave must earn rights through hard work and obedience, but they will never be actual 'rights' simply reward from his Mistress for good behaviour.
Like all good slaves, Chattel Slaves must be trained by their Mistress to carry out Her required duties on a weekly basis.
He must also pay for his training and for her time expended in keeping him under control. Blackmail will be used to remotely control all Chattel Slaves.
Inheriting The Chattel Slave
It is common that any offspring of a slave also automatically become property of the Mistress, however in my case this will not be a feature of your slavery.
I cannot promise however that you will not be passed onto my daughter as an inherited slave following my demise - to continue your slavery under Her Rule for the ongoing future.
Applying For Chattel Slave Status
Chattel Slaves must work hard and follow all orders and training before they are considered Mistress Dana's long term 'slave'. Start with a tribute.
Had to look up chattel.
