Surely there can only be one Alpha in any coupling?
Alphas by nature are intrinsically very dominant, meaning that in an Alpha Couple one of them will at least somewhat submit to the other. So what you really have in a kink situation (surely?) is an Alpha dominant and their more submissive partner.
That submissive may be a strong character, but they're still submissive to the main Alpha. I guess they are both Alpha in a way if the submissive is very strong, but personally I'm very unsure about the 'Alpha Couple' concept, as it implies a totally EQUAL POWER BALANCE situation, which no true Alpha is likely to allow.
